Want To Become A Lion (Investor)?

SALCOC presents its first ever “Lion’s Den”. Based on the popular American TV show, Shark Tank, young entrepreneurs and inventors from the South African Lebanese community will pitch their business ideas to a panel of venture capitalists (“Lion”) from our community in the hope of securing investment finance, and mentoring, from them.

We are looking for captains of industry in the South African Lebanese community and/or SALCOC members who are willing to invest in our youth while simultaneously growing their own business portfolio. You will be our Lions.

The young applicants will be subject to a stringent application process, which will require the submission of detailed business proposals, including financial models. Applicants will be shortlisted by a SALCOC selection panel and only the best business ideas and proposals will be presented to the Lions for their potential investment. The shortlisted candidates will present their ideas and proposals to the Lions, in person, during a SALCOC hosted evening where the Lions will be given the opportunity to scrutinize the proposals and make a live decision as to whether or not to invest in the business idea, how much to invest, and how much of a stake they would like in the business in return for their investment. After this evening, it will be up to the Lions and contestants to enter into a formal business agreement.
