Lee-Anne has a BCom Law and LLB Law from the University of Pretoria. She is an admitted attorney, having served her articles of clerkship and worked as an associate in the Commercial Litigation department of ENS Africa. Lee-Anne then pursued a masters degree in International Human Rights Law from the University Oxford and proceeded to become a legal researcher for the Helen Suzman Foundation. She then went on to work for the Constitutional Court of South Africa. Lee-Anne occupied the prestigious position of Law Clerk and Legal Researcher for Justice Rammaka Mathopo and Acting Justice Dhaya Pillay.

Lee-Anne also simultaneously co-founded The Embrace Project, an NPC established to combat gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa. She currently also occupies the position of Senior Campaigner for the South African office of Change.org – the world’s largest online petitions platform – and sits on the Board of Directors for the Southern African Institute for Business Accountants (SAIBA).

Lee-Anne is first generation South African and holds dual Lebanese and South African citizenships. She is a fluent Lebanese speaker with parts of her immediate family still residing in Lebanon.
